In this interview, we had the pleasure of speaking with Charlotte Costa, a friend and client for over a decade, about her transformative journey of self-discovery, healing, and embracing life’s challenges. After years of resisting and pushing forward in survival mode, Charlotte shares the realizations that led her to a path of deeper meaning and purpose.
Charlotte’s journey has been deeply shaped by her experience with a significant health diagnosis, one that forced her to slow down and truly examine her life. Before this turning point, she was entrenched in a high-stress career and constantly running on adrenaline to meet daily demands. Like many, she had heard advice about practicing mindfulness and self-care but hadn’t found a way to integrate those practices fully into her life. Instead, life had become a constant fight-or-flight response.
It wasn’t until a conversation with her sibling that the clarity began to emerge. As she reflects, “I realized I had a choice to make: I could keep surviving, or I could learn how to truly live without constantly reacting to everything.” This realization marked the beginning of a journey toward understanding what it meant to find calm and peace within herself.
With the support of close friends and her participation in the Intuitive Life Coaching Academy, Charlotte began exploring her intuitive side—a part of herself she had long ignored. She shares how she often dismissed her natural ability to “read a room” and connect with people as simply professional skill. In reality, these abilities were signs of a deeper empathy and intuition that had been waiting for her acknowledgment.
“I had to start accepting that I was meant to use this empathy and intuition to help others,” Charlotte says. This acceptance didn’t come easily, though, as it often made her feel “other” or “different” from those around her. But as she progressed, she realized that this gift didn’t set her apart; rather, it connected her to others in profound ways.
Charlotte credits the academy’s community, leadership, and curriculum for helping her make the leap into this new phase of her life. She explains how working with peers, teachers, and mentors in a collaborative environment has profoundly impacted her approach to both her personal and professional life. “The academy has shifted the way I communicate with myself, my family, and my friends,” she says. This shift has also affected her relationships with her daughter, partner, and other significant people in her life.
The diverse approaches from various teachers within the academy offer students a unique way to learn and grow, and Charlotte believes this variety has been instrumental in her journey. Beyond any certification, the academy has given her the tools to connect with her higher self and understand how to live a life full of purpose and authenticity.
As she continues on this path, Charlotte is filled with purpose and a renewed understanding of her life’s meaning. For the first time, she sees clearly what she wants to do: work with women, especially those seeking their true selves, to guide them towards self-discovery and healing. This newfound direction feels deeply aligned with her own life experiences and the personal growth she’s cultivated through the academy.
In her words: “For the first time in my life, I’m not afraid to live.” Charlotte is embracing this next chapter with the audacity to believe she deserves a full and meaningful life, and she is determined to help others find the same courage to do so.
Charlotte’s story is a powerful reminder that life’s challenges—however difficult—can guide us towards our true selves and help us discover our purpose. For anyone grappling with uncertainty, pain, or doubt, her story is a testament to the transformative power of self-discovery and healing. Through resilience, support, and an open heart, she’s found a way forward—and she hopes to help others find theirs as well.
